The construction of a monastery that will support the spiritual monastic tradition in one of the most sacred Buddhist regions in Nepal and which will provide a place of study and practise for Tibetan and Western monks under the guidance of Kyabje Trulshik Rinpoche.

The construction of a monastery in Lumbini, Nepal. Lumbini is the birthplace of the Buddha, and is therefore considered one of the eight most sacred Buddhist pilgrimage sites. Currently there is not adequate accommodation and resources for the number of people who wishes to dedicate themselves to a monastic education. This new monastery will give shelter to those interested in studying under the guidance of Kyabje Trulshik Rinpoche, and particularly it will welcome Tibetan refugees, who continue to make the arduous journey to India and Nepal in order to escape the oppressive communist rule in Tibet.

| Support for Tibetan refugees: Providing resources for training & economic development |

This project was created with the goal of providing resources for Tibetan refugees in India, Nepal, Bhutan and Sikkim, particularly in the field of economic and cultural development. With a strong focus being to preserve the ancient Buddhist heritage and culture of Tibet, KRF works towards re-establishing and sustaining the social and cultural life of Tibetan communities, in exile and also in Tibet, through specific one-off projects.

| Helping Himalayan communities: Support for impoverished families and communities in Himalayan regions |

The economic and community support provided by KRF Development is not limited to the Tibetan people, but extended to disadvantaged members of communities in the Himalayan region and other, primarily Asian, countries. Inspired from Kangyur Rinpoche’s extraordinary compassion, KRF Development is dedicated to assisting and protecting the old, the sick, the elderly, and the impoverished peoples – in essence those find themselves helpless to defend themselves. The funds help to improve the health, education and living conditions, and may include projects such as providing water tanks to villages without a water supply, the construction of local schools or medical clinics, or providing farming or other trade equipment to help the Himalayan people towards self-sufficiency.

KRF regularly sends funds to Tibet to help impoverished Tibetans to become self-sufficient. KRF also helps with various construction and restoration projects, including the construction of schools and medical clinics, the repair of traditional monasteries and libraries, as well as the restoration of sacred paintings and statues.

| Animal rescue: Protecting animals from harm |

Rescuing animals is a regular activity organized by Pema Wangyal Rinpoche and his family, along with a group of friends and volunteers. It involves purchasing animals and insects held in captivity and releasing them into their natural environment, or in domestic cases, rescuing them from poor conditions and providing a caring environment.
The foundation for this practise is that all beings are equal in their wish to be free and not to suffer. It is an active expression of non-aggression, a fundamental practice of the Buddhist teachings. There are many benefits to saving animals…
