Personal information collection
When you are asked for personal information on www.songtsen.org and www.padmakara.org, you are sharing that information with Songtsen alone unless stated otherwise.
The site may give you a cookie if you use certain features, and some basic information may be collected when you visit — for instance, your internet protocol or “IP” address and your contact information (if you make a purchase or donation) — but 100% of all data is for Songtsen's use only. Songtsen does not, and will not, sell or in any way share your personal information. In order to keep improving our website, we may collect the following information from visitors:

- Any information volunteered by the visitor, such as an email address.
We use the information we collect about visitors to the site to help us with understanding more about how our site is used.
Sharing & distribution information
Songtsen will not disclose any of your personal information, except when we have your permission or in the rare circumstance that the law should require it. Songtsen does not sell lists to any person, organizations or companies.
If you have subscribed to any of Songtsen’s e-communications, such as the Chanteloube mailing list, your email address and personal information will not be shared in any way. Songtsen will not sell or rent this information to anyone.
Any registration of contact information will be used for administrative purposes only. We will only contact you in response to a direct inquiry or to a subscription to Chanteloube's mailing list. The sole purpose of the mailing list is to provide occasional announcements regarding programmes and general news.
How we protect the personal information you provide
If you provide Songtsen with personal information (for example, when making an online purchase or donation, or when subscribing to a mailing list) your details are stored securely and used only for the purpose for which you have signed up. Your details are not passed to other organizations (except if you use our secure financial pages – in which case they are passed to our financial partner, for payment processing and validation purposes only). If you use our secure online purchase form or donation form, your transaction will be processed through the website of our reputable financial partner, Banque Populaire. The information you provide as part of any online financial transaction (such as your credit card and contact details) is collected only so that the transaction can take place.
The information you give us will be stored on a database and may be used by us where appropriate – such as to send tax receipts for donations. This data is not shared with any other party.
Accessing and updating your membership details online
Songtsen is working towards making it easier for you to review and correct the information that Songtsen maintains about you. We are developing a solution to give Songtsen members access to their membership details online. In the meantime, you can modify your membership details by emailing our administration team: members@songtsen.org.
Security
Songtsen is committed to protecting the security of your data. We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. Any personal information you provide is stored in computers with restricted access that are located in controlled facilities. When you give Songtsen personal information, we take all the steps necessary to ensure that your information is treated securely. However, unfortunately it is not possible to guarantee the total security of any data transmitted over the Internet. While we strive to protect your personal information, Songtsen cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, and you therefore do this at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems.
We have a valid secure socket layer (SSL) certificate running on all the financial information input pages and by working with Banque Populaire we are ensuring that we are using the best security technology with regards to collection and transmission of personal financial data.
