Study resources: the Tibetan library
Greatly owing to the remarkable foresight of Kyabje Kangyur Rinpoche, who left Tibet before the communist invasion and who was responsible for bringing hundreds of Tibetan texts to India, Songtsen now possesses a collection of Tibetan texts which is without parallel in Europe. It contains many unique books, some of which are more than ten centuries old. The commentaries and explanations of expert teachers bring alive the knowledge of these works, which contain and permit the of the authentic tradition.
Currently, due to the constraints of the library's storage space, access to the library is limited and mainly reserved for the lamas and the Padmakara Translation Group. However, Songtsen's library project hopes to make these rare and precious texts available to all scholars and translators for their research and study.
