Community practice
On special days of the Tibetan calendar, students gather to practice meditation, various sadhanas, and tsok (feast offering). This includes the Four Great Festival days, including the Miracle days of Buddha Shaykamuni: the day of Buddha's enlightenment, the first turning of the wheel of Dharma, the day of Buddha's descent from Tushita, and the day of Buddha's Parinirvana. Special practice days also include anniversaries marking the passing away of great masters, particularly the teachers connected with Chanteloube. The community gathers to practice sadhanas related to the particular day or anniversary, such as the Buddha Shakyamuni sadhana, "The Treasure of Blessings".
Padmasambhava,
Guru Rinpoche
Tsok offering is generally practiced on the 10th (Guru Rinpoche’s day) and on the 25th (the day of the dakinis) of each Tibetan month, as well as on special anniversary days. Community practice generally takes place at La Sonnerie in Dordogne, France (see Songtsen: location or how to get there). Preparations generally start around 6:00 PM and the practise normally begins at 6:30 pm, unless otherwise announced. See affiliated groups for local practice groups in other cities and countries.
Practice texts are supplied at each community gathering and are also available for purchase by Padmakara (see books & audio: practice texts).
